Behavioral Health and Wellness
Mt. Carmel Counseling Center
Our counseling team is here for you! We can support treatment services including, but not limited to; depression, anxiety, trauma or relationship struggles, PTSD, and life transitions. We do ask for a small $10 donation to help defray our costs, but there are no additional costs associated with this counseling and please do not allow this to be a barrier to treatment (we can waive this on a case by case basis). You do NOT need a referral; you do NOT need to have insurance. You need only call to schedule your first appointment.
Through partnerships with local Universities, Mt. Carmel is able to offer a range of counseling services for individuals, couples, families and children. We also have active group counseling opportunities. Treatment is provided by licensed professionals, post-grad/prelicensure therapists, and graduate interns supervised by an on-site supervisor who is a Licensed Professional Counselor. All clinicians are uniquely trained and experienced in providing military specific services. All of the graduate interns are chosen from the top accredited Universities along the front-range, have completed advanced coursework in mental health services, and provide confidential, trusted, and supervised care. Many providers have either served or are military connected.
Interns are currently provided by Denver University, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, University of Northern Colorado, Regis University, Denver Seminary, and Colorado Christian University. Additionally, faculty from University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and Regis University donate their time and expertise to facilitate our PTSD group. Regis University also conducts a multi (military/veteran) family trauma group called Strengthening Family Coping Resources (SFCR) at Mt. Carmel three times a year for 10 weeks each group.
Please feel free to take our Behavioral Health Assessment if you are unsure whether counseling might be helpful for you.

Military Couples Retreat
Military life can be very stressful and have lingering effects even after your service has ended. It can also take a toll on marriage and family life. Our Military Couples Retreats are designed to remove couples from everyday stressors and create an environment where they can relax and enjoy each other’s company without distractions.
We provide three day retreats for military couples (active duty or veterans). Depending on the season, couples receive private instruction on either fly-fishing or skiing / snowboarding. Transportation, instruction, meals, equipment and lodging in a beautiful mountain home is all provided at no cost.
Participants are required to attend a light-hearted pre and post meeting where a life-coach works with them to define dreams and goals they can work on as a couple.
Eligibility: Due to limited availability, space is reserved for those couples recommended by our staff or partner agencies.
